Bus Service 395

Many residents have complained that the 395 service no longer calls at the bus station but runs non-stop from opposite BEAM to Tesco and in reverse from Ware Road to BEAM. This is inconvenient especially for passengers wanting to connect buses and for those with reduced mobility wishing to access Lea Wharf surgery. We have contacted Arriva and Hertfordshire County Council.

Arriva have said they have removed the stop in Hertford to save time (and therefore cost to them) following the closure of Fore Street to buses. Essentially this means they can provide the service with fewer vehicles.

HCC have said that they only manage the Sunday service and it is a ‘commercial service’ Monday to Saturday.

We will continue to put pressure on over this and to ask candidates for the county council whether they what they will do about this if elected.
